My Recent Activities
Tuesday was a Yuba Wate Agency board of directors meeting. Here are a few highlights from the agenda:

I had several other board and committee meetings on my calendar, including:
- Northern California Water Association (NCWA) Board Meeting
- Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) Land Use and Natural Resources (LUNR) Committee (agenda)
- National Association of Counties (NACo) Transportation Committee meeting
- Yuba Sutter Transit special board meeting
Additional items on my calendar include a SACOG SB125 briefing, agenda setting for the next board of supervisors meeting, a Cap-to-Cap transportation team meeting, lunch with Yuba County Community Development leadership, a NCWA tour of the Solano Project (including Monticello Dam, the Putah Diversion Dam, and Putah Creek restoration in the City of Winters), and an strategic marketing interview with a consultant working on Yuba County economic development,. I planned to attend an OPUD park committee meeting (see this link for OPUD committee agendas), but the Yuba Suter Transmit meeting ran long and I couldn’t make it.
This week, community events on my calendar include the Plumas Lake Walking Moai.
Looking ahead to this week
Tuesday is a Yuba County Board of Supervisors meeting. Here are a few highlights from the agenda:

Approve plans, specifications, and estimate, and authorize advertisement for bids for the 2025 County Service Area 66 resurfacing project.

Hold public hearing, waive first reading and introduce ordinance repealing and re-enacting the Yuba County Consolidated Fee Ordinance Code.

Ratify and approve Chair’s signature on Letter of opposition to Assembly Bill 470.

Approve letters of support for Senate Bill 547 – Commercial Property Insurance Protections, and support for Senate Bill 616 (2025) – Community Hardening Commission: Wildfire Mitigation Program
Please note that our Board of Supervisors meeting will start at 9 am but will recess after consent and public comment to allow the board to attend the memorial service for Officer Rodarte. The meeting will resume at 1 pm.

- National Association of Counties (NACo) Rural Action Caucus (RAC) meeting
- South County Infrastructure Ad Hoc Committee Meeting
Additional items on my calendar include a Yes to Startups Pitch Competition, a swearing-in ceremony for the Yuba Sheriff’s Department, a Yuba Water Agency employee recognition event, a Yuba Community College Board of Trustees meeting, and a Mountain County Water Association (MCWA) reception.
The Wheatland City Council meeting is at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, and the agenda is available here. The Council will also hold a City Council/Planning Commission Workshop on Wednesday evening; the agenda is available here.
This week, community events on my calendar include the Plumas Lake Walking Moai, the memorial service for Officer Rodarte, and a ribbon cutting for a park in Marysville.
